The change of heart. The heart of change.

When Giving Turns Into Joy a Loving Touch for a Refugee Family

During a deeply moving humanitarian visit, we visited a Syrian refugee family of eight members, including three persons with disabilities: a girl and a boy with cerebral palsy, and a girl who suffers from electrical seizures. The visit was simple in form, yet profound in meaning and impact.
During the visit, we provided the family with a large food parcel sufficient for their needs, along with chicken and meat, in an effort to ease part of their daily burden. We also addressed the special needs of the children with medical conditions by providing sanitary pads, as well as pressure-relief mattresses for persons with disabilities, to help prevent bedsores and protect their health and dignity.
What truly touched our hearts, however, was not what was given, but what we witnessed. An indescribable joy appeared on their faces—gratitude shining in their eyes, and tears mixed with smiles. These moments reminded us that true giving is not measured by its size, but by the impact it leaves on hearts.
This visit was a living reminder that behind every need there is a story, and behind every story there is a human being who deserves to be seen, heard, and embraced with love.
